The royal family have famously been fans of Range Rovers and Land Rovers from the beginning, and now a lucky person can drive away with one of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved vehicles when it goes up for auction next month. 

Many people buy second-hand Range Rovers, as these reliable, sturdy cars are well-known for their durability and for standing the test of time. 

In fact, lots of motorists use Range Rover rebuild specialists to revamp a used vehicle, allowing them to get many more miles out of their vehicle. 

This is likely what the new owner of Her Majesty’s L322 Vogue SE will do once they get hold of the keys. 

The 2007 car has a 3.6-litre TDV8 diesel engine and is finished in a Tonga green metallic paint.

It is thought to be the only diesel Range Rover used by Queen Elizabeth II, and has 120,000 miles on the clock. 

The car has also had upgrades over the years, including rear grab handles and a dog guard in the boot.

After the royal family was done with the vehicle, it went into private ownership in Spain. Unfortunately, its exposure to the sunshine has meant it has suffered sun damage to the paintwork over the years. 

Managing director and principal auctioneer at Iconic Auctioneers Rob Hubbard said they expected the vehicle to make up to £60,000 at auction, as it will get interest from buyers from around the world. 

He added: “This example represents a unique opportunity to own a car that served our late monarch personally.”

Drivers who want to get a bargain at an auction might do well to attend a few beforehand to become familiar with the process and make sure they understand the rules before they start bidding. 

It is also important to think with your head, not your heart, and do plenty of research before you buy anything.
