Is Seat Space The Secret Of The Royal Love Of Range Rovers?

It is well known that the royal family loves Land Rovers and Range Rovers. The late Queen and Prince Philip were forever using them, while the modern generation has followed in their footsteps. In turn, Land Rover has had a royal warrant since 1951.

Not only have they been seen regularly enjoying a drive or being driven, but they have also enjoyed the great comfort that these vehicles offer, especially Range Rovers.

Indeed, if you want a Range Rover rebuild job done, you shouldn’t just think about the bodywork, the engine or the various fixtures and fittings; you should also consider just how spacious they are inside and the importance of maintaining luxury and comfort.

Why Is Seat Space In A Car Important To Royals?

According to royal biographer Dickie Arbiter, this is a key reason for the family’s love of Range Rovers. Speaking to Express.co.uk, he explained: “It’s the ease of getting in and out of them that plays a big part.”

“In some cars, there’s not a lot of space between the front seats and the back seats,” he noted.

This is significant when one considers that the moment any member of the royal family gets out of a car, they will have rows of cameras pointed at them.

Putting it bluntly, Mr Arbiter said: “If you’ve got the Princess of Wales in the back seat, she’s got to be able to get out without flashing the top of her thighs.”

Of course, there is far more to Range Rovers than just lots of seat space, but Mr Arbiter explained this was why Range Rovers are usually preferred to other high-performing vehicles, making it a deal-breaker among the highest quality cars.

Your Range Rover may not have any royals driving or in the passenger seats. But if you have it revamped, you may be delighted with the work that can be done to add extra luxury to the spaciousness that is already built into these stylish but practical cars.
